Where to go Wednesdays: D.C. Pizza

“Anyone who says that money cannot buy happiness has clearly never spent their money on pizza.Andrew W. K., music producer

As a New Yorker, there are several food dishes that we dominant in the U.S. and one of that is pizza. Yes, Chicago takes the deep dish version of it but who really like deep dish pizza? When it comes to pizza my taste is very particular and it has to be good. So I wanted to bring you my list of favorites in the D.C. Metro Area, where you can go buy a hot slice of happiness.

  1. 2 Amys Neapolitan Pizzeria – Washington D.C. – Can you even come to D.C. and not have 2 Amy’s pizza? It is located in Cleveland Park and their pizza is to die for! Unfortunately due to Covid-19 there are only open for take-out order for the rest of 2020 but it is still worth a try!

2. Timber Pizza Company – Washington D.C. – Their goal is simple “make the best pie in the game!  Timber launched in May 2014 and was serving up their Neopolitan-ish wood-fired pies at local farmers markets. In June 2016, the Timber team opened its first brick-and-mortar location in Petworth, DC and have been serving the great same pizza since then!

3. Lena’s Woodfire Grill – Alexandria, VA (Blogger’s Choice) – Their slogan: Something Calm In The Midst Of Chaos – The story behind this place is that the restaurant created Lena’s Oasis in the parking lot as a way to say “thank you” and to give back to this wonderful community that has supported us through thick and thin for more than 56 years. Not only is the place everything your heart desire visually, the food is amazing! Don’t get me started on the pizza! (Check out my separate blog post and yelp review of this place)

3. Pupatella Neapolitan Pizza – Arlington, VA – Their slogan: We serve Neapolitan pizza in your neighborhood, exactly as it has been prepared for over 150 years in neighborhoods  throughout Naples. Created in 2007, and they have been serving the best pizza every since. I highly recommend the Prosciutto Arugula which consists of prosciutto di parma (cured ham), baby arugula, fresh mozzarella and parmesan. Simple yet absolutely delish!

4. &Pizza – Multiple Locations – I don’t usually recommend chain stores when there are so many mom and pop shops to explore. However, good pizza is good pizza! Everyone is familiar with this make your own pizza but all also have awesome pizza recipes like American Honey!

Have you been to any of these places?
