Travel Hotspot: South Florida, Miami

Looking for a quick weekend gateway? South Florida is always a good option and Miami Beach is the best place to be. Check out 5 neighborhoods in Miami you want to visit during your weekend trip!

South Beach – There’s Miami-Dade County, Miami Beach and then there’s South Beach. The number one place to be in Miami Beach is South Beach aka SoBe. This is where all the action, drama, and celebration happens. Ocean Drive is the fabulous strip that features an endless array of boutique shops, eateries, bars, and clubs. You literally do not have to leave SoBe if all you are looking for is beach, booze and a balling good time!

Wynwood – If you are looking for more of an artsy scene with trendy eclectic vibes look no forward Wynwood is a must visit. Home to the infamous Art Basel, walking through Wynwood is like walking through an outdoor lively art gallery. The huge colorful street murals give the neighborhood tons of color but the bars and clubs keep Wynwood bumping until 3/4 am!

Brickell – One of my personal favorites is Brickell, this is the city’s financial district. You can tell money runs through the street because Brickell is full of luxury condos and rooftop venues. It’s a chic mix of art galleries, fashion boutiques and expensive Cosmos, think Sex in the City meets MIA.

Little Havana – Heading over to Little Havana you will be instantly transported to Cuba! This is a cultural epic center for Cuban food, café and cigars. Yes, it has a bad reputation of being dangerous neighborhood. However, there’s nothing to worry about if you avoid wandering the unfamiliar streets late at night. Little Havana is a nice time out from the typical touristy scene throughout the rest of Miami.

Downtown Miami – Right above Brickell is Downtown Miami. Often overlooked because of its two famous sisters; SoBe and Wynwood – Downtown Miami is a baller neighborhood. Of course, you have to visit the heart of Miami, this is where you will experience some of the well know attractions of Miami. Shop until you drop at Bayside Marketplace, watch and Miami Heat game at American Airlines Arena, and take in the breath-taking skyline at Skyviews Miami.
