It’s a D.C. Capitol Christmas!

Here’s a quick list of places you can go to on during the Holiday season:

  1. Lights, Trees and Wreaths, oh may!
  1. Feeling Festive this season, check out these holidays festivals and markets:
  •  Celebrate Sviatki! whatever that is; at the Russian Winter Festival Sunday – December 9, 2019 10:00am – 5:00pm.
  •  14th Annual Downtown Holiday Market is one of D.C.’s most spectacular outdoor shopping events.  It will remain open through Sunday, December 23 – Noon to 8 pm each day. This holiday market brings a unique and festive shopping vibe to the heart of DC, this year the market will feature more than 150 regional artisans, crafters and boutique businesses. No Old Navy pjs sets this year!

3. Not yet Christmas without a Christmas show:

  •  Gaylord’s Resort Icy village and show, A Charlie Brown Christmas, is a double whammy if you stop by the National Harbor first!
  •  The Kennedy Center has always got you covered! With a Christmas, holiday-themed show almost every night of the month.

4. Check out these unique holiday ideas:

  • Looking to experience three magical weekends? Well you’re in luck, head over to Wunder Garten in DC’s NoMa neighborhood this holiday season. From now until December 16, their Winterfest will be home to a Holiday Popup Market featuring local makers, entertainment, visits from Santa and more!
  • From now until January 1, 2020, don’t forget to visit D.C. Botanical Gardens for their annual holiday show Season’s Greenings showcases train stations! Where else are you going to see plant-based recreations of iconic train stations from across the United States. This is a great way to celebrate the holidays and America’s railroad history.

  1. Did anyone say drinks/party?
  • Well just google “ugly sweater party” and hundreds of options in the DMV area to include: Arlington, The District and maybe Maryland.
  • Who can forget the age ol’tradition of a bar crawl? The holiday season is a great time to mix cold weather, holiday clothes and drinks: Have your pick of Santa crawl, holiday onesie crawl or ugly sweater crawl – maybe wear all three to one party!
  • Lastly, the mother of all PopUp Bars: Miracle on 7th Street – 1839 7th St. NW – all I can say is good luck waiting on that long line to get in!
