Food review: Cheesetique

One brisk night walking through the lights of Mosaic District my friend and I bounced from shop to shop trying to figure out what we wanted to eat and which place had the best food! We settled on Cheesetique which was nestle around the corner from Brine and ZGallery. My friend ate at another location in VA so we had high expectations.

After ordering drinks and having the server walk us through the menu we ordered several items off the menu:

  • SPINACHOKE DIP
Artichokes, spinach, Crème Fraîche & Parmesan, piping hot with tortilla chips
  • THE SASSY GOAT with a side of lobster mac.
Fresh Chèvre, bacon, avocado, roasted tomatoes, and garlic aioli on crispy ciabatta.
  • THE BRIE & PEARSCIUTTO side of tomato soup.
Brie d’Amir, sliced Asian pear, crispy Prosciutto on sourdough w/ a side of honey
  • MAC ‘N CHEESETIQUE
Our MULTI-award winning mac! Goat Gouda, Asiago and Cacio de Roma topped with truffle-infused bread crumbs.

Takeaways:

  • The decor and ambiance of the restaurant was pretty unique and cool.
  • They have lots of cheesy options – Cheeseburgers heaven!
  • Prices were great.
  • Grilled cheese was delish, the mac and cheese too but,
  • Overall: Man the tomato soup was BLAH! I mean if I had to put salt and pepper on every spoonful, than its a no. I’m not sure what disappointed me more, the fact that they served grilled cheese without tomato soup (that’s an upchargre – they serve grilled cheese with salad or rosemary chips, which makes no sense) or that the tomato soup tasted like a bowl of luke warm air?
