Every month the DC Blogger Union host a networking and learning event at an epic location showcasing a featured speaker!
This month the event was held at The Sugar Factory in Arlington, VA. SugarFactory rolled at the red carpet for this blogger event! From the moment I entered the vibes of the place were pur energy and fun! We were greeted by friendly staff and sample drinks. No that’s how you kick off an event. From drink demonstrations, food sampling and the most epic dessert parade of I have ever seen – Sugar Factory is defintely a place I would recommend for a fun birthday event or girls night out!
The event speaker was Marj Suarez from @marjanne.co. Marj provided fantastic tips on how to stay current and learn how to create great video content and edit videos.
Here are her top 3 tips:
– You don’t need fancy equipment to start off, just use your phone and invest is moderately priced equipment as a beginner.
– When recording in public don’t worry about the looks and stares you will never see this people again.
– Don’t take “no” personally, when reaching out to brands you will get a lot of no’s in the beginning, just keep pushing through!
She provided such great advice, tips and examples on how to take video blogging to the next level. It also helped that she was the nicest person ever!
There was time in the beginning and end of the event for questions, networking and lots of pictures. I was about to meet a bunch of great bloggers and was motivated to keep on my current path.
