City Vibes D.C. is a food-drink-event-travel blog created for the solo purpose of bringing together a community who share the love for food, booze and culture.

City Vibes highlights D.C. restaurants, bars, street fashion, events, and basically all cool things going on in our nation’s Capital. Created by a savvy New Yorker, August, who wanted to share her love for all things inside-the-beltway. City Vibes D.C. started as a local blog, a passion project really – but has transformed into a go-to guide for the most unique, trendy and fun places all around the D.M.V! Not to mention travel tips, fashion highlights and DIY inspiration.

From an upper college student, young professional to a vibrantly mature adult, City Vibes has a little bit of something for everyone! There are so many things this area has to offer and uncover, why don’t you join the ride?

Raquel Auguste is the blogger behind the curtain! Just call me Kellz for short…

Hi and welcome to my blog, City Vibes. To keep it short and sweet here are 5 things you should know about me:

  •  Background: I was born and raised in Queens, New York. Moved to the Washington D.C. area back in 2014 for a government 9-5.
  •  Personality: Extroverted introvert (yes, it’s real), humorous and silly, passionate and ambitious, Capricorn, Haitian-American (being Caribbean does affect your personality!)
  • Passions: God, international affairs, politics, food/booze (obviously), my family, community service and traveling.
  •  Biggest Pet Peeve/Dislikes: Judgmental people, slow and distracted drivers, the cold!
  •  Fun Fact: *subject to change* I use to model when I was in college and was even featured in Essence Magazine – October 2012! 

Hello! Sandra Auguste Here! I’m a teacher. I visited the UAE and fell in love, so I went back to work and have been teaching there for four years.

  • Background: I was born and raised in Queens, New York. After graduating from college, I had to urge for an adventure. I moved to the UAE and have been living there for four years.
  • Personality: Think of me as Issa from Insecure. I am goofy, twerking for no good reason, turning everything into a song. I value deep conversations with friends and loved ones as I have strong opinions about everything.
  • Passions:Traveling has always been my passion. I love taking part in anything related to culture. Concerts, festivals, museums art galleries.  I love working out and challenging myself physically and mentally.
  • Biggest Pet Peeve/Dislikes: People who are not reflective. Try and see the errors of your ways and be a better version of yourself.
  • Fun Fact: I tried being a vegetarian and it lasted a hot second.
