There’s only one thing better than a beautifully designed restaurant — a beautiful restaurant featuring a hand-crafted food and drink menu. Lena’s Woodfire Pizza and Tap is exactly that! Lena’s menu features Neapolitan-style pizzas straight from a custom built Marra Forni wood-burning oven. They don’t stop at pizzas they serve a delightful array of Italian specialties, salads, craft beers. and cocktails.
Décor/Vibe: But wait the deal gets sweeter! Due to the covid-19 pandemic Lena’s Woodfire really thought outside the box and created a unique Oasis Garden! Their motto: “Something Calm in The Midst of Chaos” – the restaurant created Lena’s Oasis in their very own parking lot as a way to “…say “thank you” and to give back to this wonderful community that has supported us through thick and thin for more than 56 years. They crafted a 5,200-square-foot tented garden that provide additional seating adhering to the social distancing rules and includes tables for up to 10 guests sectioned into “cabanas” using fabric partitions and tall trees to separate dining parties.” The artistry of the Oasis Garden is amazing and takes the dining experience to another level! Did I mention they also have a pretty awesome outdoor Beer Garden in the front of the restaurant.
Food Talk: Enough about the décor and vibes, let’s talk food! 10/10 – as previously mentioned they serve a variety of woodfire grill pizza. From vegetarian to a meat lover’s option called Di Carna (my favorite, it features sweet italian sausage, prosciutto, pepperoni, fresh mozzarella). During the feast, we started off on the right foot: garlic-Parmesan wings served with calabrese-ranch dip, calamari with spicy marinara, Parmesan polenta fries. We also indulged ourselves with an order of penne alla vodka and prosciutto & arugula salad which had pears, sliced red onions, shaved parmesan and focaccia croutons.
Pizza: Of course, we had to try the pizza: we ordered a split, half Di Carne and half Chicken-Calabrese Ranch pizza which had fresh mozzarella, calabrese ranch, grilled chicken, pepperoni and roasted peppers. On a separate occasion visiting this amazing establishment, I have had the Diavola pizza (spicy sopressata salami, mozzarella, fried kale, calabrese pepper hot honey) this pizza was hitting onall 3 S’s – sweet, salty, and savory.
Drinks: To drink I recommend the Peach Rose Sangria and Mango Mojito, not too sweet yet light and refreshing!
Final words: If you couldn’t tell from my through explanation/description this place is a YAY, for me! Reservations are highly recommended, I learned the hard way that this place that it is worth the wait, but please learn from my mistakes!
